Los Angeles Data Center
CRG West’s Wilshire Annex data center is a 450,000 square-foot facility with over 40 megawatts of power capacity from LADWP. The Los Angeles data center provides cooling for critical loads of up to 200 watts per square-foot, typical floor loads of 160 pounds per square foot, floor plates of up to 90,000 contiguous square feet and ceiling heights typically exceeding 16 feet.
For bandwidth-intensive or latency-sensitive requirements, the data center offers redundant dark fiber and DWDM access directly to One Wilshire’s 300+ international carriers and networks, making it one of the most interconnected data centers in the world. Customers can also easily access CRG West’s rich interconnection and peering platform, the Any2 Exchange, and peer with more than 150 networks.
Often referred to as the "Postal Annex," Wilshire Annex was originally constructed in 1939 and designed for use as the United States Post Office's central mail facility. After a significant renovation and seismic upgrade in the late 1990s, Wilshire Annex has been transformed into a world-class data center able to house the mission-critical IT equipment powering global entertainment and gaming and enterprise growth. The data center exceeds minimum Seismic Zone 4 and Site Coefficient requirements by up to 15%, a fact reflected in its low insurance PML rating.
The data center is highly secure and offers 24x7 security and biometric scanners. CRG West staffs the site 24x7with credited operational personnel to complete remote hands tickets, cage build-outs, cross connections and deliveries
Wilshire Annex is SAS 70 certified and exceeds the stringent standards for security and operations that Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA, Gramm-Leach-Bliley and other regulations require.
