Policies
CRG West endeavors to manage and offer an open, free environment for networks to interconnect and establish working relationships. The following is a set of CRG West policies for using the Any2 Exchange. If any participating network has a grievance or concern with the conduct of any other participating network, send a note to any2@crgwest.com for review and possible action.
All participants are required to comply with Organizational and Technical Requirements of the Any2 Exchange, as set forth below. CRG West may amend the Requirements below from time to time and will publish these changes on the Any2 Exchange web site. Participants agree to comply with any amendments within thirty (30) days. Participants may freely use the name "Any2" or "Any2 Exchange" in any publicity, advertising or company literature as long as such usage does not imply the participant is an operator of the exchange, owner of the exchange, or the exchange is anything other than a proprietary utility offered by CRG West for CRG West's facility tenants.
Participant's Operational Requirements
1. Participant's business shall include the transmission of Internet protocols, content, VoIP transmission, or other IP protocol services. 2. Participants must have their own permanent connection to the Internet, separate from any Any2 connection. 3. Each Member will provide their contact details for operational matters, and contact details of the person or persons to whom requests for peering should be sent. These contact details will be published on the CRG West website. 4. Participants must not carry out any illegal activities through the Any2 Exchange. While CRG West aggressively protects the privacy and operational integrity of our tenants, we are obligated under US law to comply with warrants and subpoenas as presented by qualified law enforcement agencies. 5. In the event a Participant makes any claim against the Any2 Exchange or CRG West, as a result of the Any2 Exchange, for any reason whatsoever, the claim or claims shall be limited in aggregate to the amount of fees paid by the Participant to CRG West for the Any2 Exchange connection.
Technical Requirements
General
- Participants must ensure that their usage of the Any2 Exchange is not detrimental to the usage of other Any2 Exchange participants.
- Participants must ensure that their usage is in compliance with applicable Internet standards and Internet exchange standards as published by the IETF.
- Participants should not use the Any2
Exchange for carrying traffic between their own routers (for
example from a CRG West facility in San Jose to a CRG West
facility in Los Angeles).
- Traffic may only be forwarded from one Any2 Exchange Participant to another if permission has been given by the recipient.
Connectivity
- The Any2 Exchange provides connectivity to its infrastructure using switched, shared Ethernet LANs. The following requirements apply:
- All physical interfaces connected to the Any2 Exchange infrastructure must be explicitly configured with duplex and speed settings, and must not be configured to use Ethernet auto-negotiation.
- Physical interfaces of the same speed on the same physical Any2 Exchange switch may be aggregated together using IEEE 802.3ad link aggregation control protocol, by prior agreement with the Any2 Exchange. However, for multiple connections, the Any2 Exchange and CRG West reserve the right to charge fees as needed to ensure fair access to all participants.
- The Any2 Exchange reserves the right to disconnect any port which violates any of the requirements listed in section 2.1 without notice.
Policy Routing
- Each Participant must have their own Autonomous System number, and register the routing policy for their AS in the ARIN routing registry or another public routing registry (such as RIPE).
- Unicast peering between participants' routers across the Any2 Exchange will be via BGP (version 4 or subsequent).
- Participants shall not generate unnecessary route flap, or advertise unnecessarily specific routes in peering sessions with other participants across the Any2 Exchange.
- Participants may not advertise routes with a next-hop other than that of their own routers without the prior written permission of the advertised party, the advertisee, and the Any2 Exchange.
Physical
- Participants have a duty of confidentiality to the Any2 Exchange and other Any2 Exchange participants. In particular, Participants must not install packet sniffers to monitor traffic passing through the Any2 Exchange.
- Participants may not directly connect customers to their router housed in any Any2 Exchange rack without explicit permission in writing by Any2 Exchange and/or CRG West.
- Participants may not connect equipment to or otherwise provide connectivity to the Any2 Exchange switch infrastructure on behalf of non-participants.
Please forward questions or comments to any2@crgwest.com.
